Role Summary
We're looking for a senior Vue engineer who has lived through an Angular-to-Vue migration and knows how to land one without stopping the business. You'll lead the technical side of moving our product from Angular to Vue 3, and you'll do it faster and safer by making AI coding tools a real part of how the team works.
About the Role
Our core application is built in Angular, and we're moving it to Vue 3. This is an incremental, production-safe migration, not a big-bang rewrite: Angular and Vue will run side by side while we move features over screen by screen.
You'll own the migration strategy, set the patterns the rest of the team follows, and ship a large share of the work yourself. Just as important, you'll show the team how to use AI tools to speed up repetitive conversion work while keeping quality high.
What You'll Do
Design and drive the Angular-to-Vue 3 migration plan, including sequencing, coexistence strategy (micro-frontends, module federation, or custom elements), and rollback paths
Translate Angular concepts into idiomatic Vue: components and templates, services and DI into composables and provide/inject, RxJS streams into Pinia stores and reactive state, and Angular routing and guards into Vue Router
Build shared foundations the team will reuse: a component library, design tokens, API clients, auth handling, and testing utilities
Ship production features in Vue 3 with TypeScript, Composition API, Pinia, Vue Router, and Vite
Set up AI-assisted workflows for migration work, such as codemods, prompt libraries, and review checklists that make conversion repeatable and safe
Keep quality and performance steady through the transition with unit, component, and end-to-end tests, plus bundle size and Core Web Vitals tracking
Review code, mentor engineers who are new to Vue, and write clear migration guides and architecture decision records
Partner with product, design, QA, and backend teams so the migration lands without disrupting customers or the roadmap
Required Qualifications
6+ years of professional frontend development, with at least 3 years building production apps in Vue (Vue 3 and Composition API strongly preferred)
2+ years of hands-on Angular experience (Angular 2+), including services, dependency injection, RxJS, NgModules or standalone components, and Angular routing
Direct experience on at least one Angular-to-Vue migration, ideally as a technical lead
Strong TypeScript and modern JavaScript skills
Deep knowledge of state management (Pinia or Vuex) and how to replace RxJS-heavy patterns cleanly
Experience with build tooling and architecture for large apps: Vite, Webpack, monorepos, and incremental migration patterns
Solid testing practice with tools like Vitest, Jest, Vue Test Utils, Cypress, or Playwright
Daily, practical use of AI coding tools (Claude, GitHub Copilot, or Cursor) with a track record of using them to deliver real work faster
Clear written and verbal communication, and comfort leading technical decisions across a team
Nice to Have
Experience with Nuxt 3 or server-side rendering
Built or maintained a design system or component library (Storybook, Vuetify, PrimeVue, Quasar, or custom)
Wrote codemods or AST transforms (jscodeshift, ts-morph, Babel) to automate large scale refactors
Experience with micro-frontend architectures such as Module Federation or single-spa
Built LLM-powered features into products, or integrated LLM APIs into internal tooling
Accessibility expertise (WCAG 2.2) and performance tuning for large SPAs
Open-source contributions in the Vue or Angular ecosystem
How We Expect You to Use AI
We want someone who treats AI as a force multiplier, not a shortcut. In this role that means using AI agents and assistants to accelerate Angular-to-Vue conversions, test generation, documentation, and refactors, while owning every line that ships. You'll build reusable assets for the team and coach teammates to get good results from AI tools.
