Junior Backend Developer
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient backend services and APIs using Ktor Collaborate with frontend and mobile engineers to deliver seamless end-to- end functionality Write clean, modular, and well-documented code that adheres to our coding standards Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving overall code quality Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize backend services for performance, reliability, and scalability Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in Ktor, Kotlin, and backend technologies Participate in agile development practices, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives Contribute to the design and development of the backend architecture and infrastructure Integrate with cloud platforms and services (Google Cloud, Azure etc.) as needed 1-2 years of experience in backend development or relevant course work. Familiarity with RESTful APIs Familiarity with API integration Familiarity with version control systems such as Git Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Excellent communication and collaboration skills in English Familiarity with agile development methodologies and working in a team- based environment Conceptual understanding of TDD, unit testing, integration testing etc Conceptual understanding of concurrency, asynchronous programming and multi-threading Familiarity working with MongoDB. Willingness to learn Ktor
Nice to Have:
Experience with backend frameworks such as Ktor, Spring Boot etc. Experience using Kotlin language, Kotlin coroutines and asynchronous programming. Experience with cloud-based services like AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes Experience with testing frameworks such as JUnit or Mockito Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines Familiarity with micro services architecture Experience with MongoDB Experience with LLM APIs such an OpenAI or Groq Experience with machine learning
