Backend Developer – Ktor - (UK Market)
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient backend services and APIs using Ktor Collaborate with frontend and mobile engineers to deliver seamless end-toen functionality Write clean, modular, and well-documented code that adheres to our coding standards Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving overall code quality Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize backend services for performance, reliability, and scalability Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in Ktor, Kotlin, and backend Technologies Participate in agile development practices, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives Contribute to the design and development of the backend architecture and infrastructure Integrate with cloud platforms and services (Google Cloud, Azure etc.) as needed
Qualifications
Requirements:
2+ years of experience in backend development (experience with Ktor is a strong plus, but not mandatory) 1+ years of experience using Kotlin Familiarity with building RESTful APIs Experience with Kotlin coroutines and asynchronous programming Experience with API integration and database design Familiarity with version control systems such as Git Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Excellent communication and collaboration skills in English Experience with agile development methodologies and working in a team based environment Willingness to learn Ktor for candidates with strong experience in Kotlin and any other backend framework
Nice to Have:
• Experience with other backend frameworks such as Spring Boot
• Experience with cloud-based services like AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes
• Experience with testing frameworks such as JUnit or Mockito
• Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
• Familiarity with micro services architecture
• Experience with MongoDB
• Experience with LLM APIs such an OpenAI or Groq
• Experience with machine learning
